About Us
The state of Maryland recognizes Agape Christian Academy as an oversight organization for families that have chosen to teach their students at home. The Umbrella offers support to families with children in K-12, including High School transcripts and diplomas.
Agape Christian Academy believes that all parents have the responsibility to choose their child’s means of education and supports each family’s choice, whether it is public, private or home education.
Agape is designed to support families who choose home education. It is intended that home instruction would cater to the unique individual needs and learning styles of each student and family. The Umbrella parents believe that home education is the best choice for their children at this time. Parents are responsible to choose the curriculum and methods to best meet the needs of each child. The Umbrella provides guidance for planning the school year and once-a-year evaluations of the student's work. They understand that the supervision will provide educational guidance and reviews are required by Maryland State Law. Our goal is to encourage parents as they strive to develop Godly character and a quality education for their children.
